Citrine

The origin of citrine is closely tied to the formation of amethyst. Amethyst crystals can be turned into citrine when exposed to high temperatures, such as those found near volcanic activity. The heat causes the iron and other impurities within the crystal to oxidize, giving the crystal a yellow to orange color.
